Picture the scene… it’s Saturday evening, you’re about to sit down to watch Tulisa from N Dubz tell people if they’re good singers not on X Factor (I was more of a Cheryl fan) and you’re starting to feel a little peckish. There are a number of ways this scenario can play out…
Option 1 – You fancy ordering from the same takeaway you’ve always ordered from, not necessarily because you know its the best, but because its the only takeaway menu you’ve got lying around! You order from said takeaway and you have the same meal you always have… BORING!
Option 2 – You haven’t got any menus in the house so you try and find some menus online, and fail.
Option 3 – You fancy trying somewhere new, you’re feeling adventurous and a little bored of the same old pizza or chicken fried rice dish you always order. Again, you try to find some menus online and fail.
Options 2 and 3 are the reason we decided to create anymenu. There simply isn’t anywhere online where you can access takeaway restaurants’ actual menus, to see them in their full glory. It’s extremely hard (without making a lot of effort and owning a vehicle) to actually try out a different takeaway if you’ve not got their takeaway to hand. So, we decided to put together what is essentially a very simple site that lists local takeaway menus for your perusal. As the development of the site has progressed, we’ve decided to become more of a takeaway review website than a takeaway directory. How are you to know if a takeaway is good just by looking at a menu? Any takeaway can spend a lot to have a fancy menu designed, but you’re not going to be eating the menu are you? You want to know if the food is any good. So… if you’ve ordered from any of our takeaways before, please take a moment to leave a review. It’s a very simply process, simply give the takeaway a star rating out of 5 and then write as little or as much as you like about your experience with that takeaway. Over time, we can hopefully build up a large amount of reviews and become the definitive source for choosing a new takeaway to order from.
We’re still a very new site, having launched on the 1st of September 2011, so if you spot anything on the site that you think could be improved, or if you’d like to suggest a feature we could add, we’d love to hear from you. You can get in touch on Facebook, Twitter or if you’re looking for some a little less “new age” why not ping us an email.
